The Frog and Fly

This week we have been working with TV Paint (Animation Program) for the first time, together with Rune Ryberg as our teacher.
We had 3 days, a frog, and a fly.
It's always hard the first time using a new program and new working methods, and I also find it hard leaving the pencil and paper. So I decided to have fun and make it crazy, hope it shows :)

Walking With The Pink Panther

After having two fun days of Mime acting with Robert Bennett,
this week and a half we've had great time experimenting with walks on the Pink Panther with Alberto Campos.

Alberto Campos: Animating a walk is like caricatures- first you study the person's look/walk, and then you can exaggerate it.

Robert Bennett- The hips tell everything.

Here is the work in process:

The Magical Collaborative Comics

This week we decided to start a collaborative comics project. This means every time someone will post a continue to the comics and eventually without planning ahead we will develop a story.
This is the first page of the comics that I posted this week.

The comics is being posted in our Bachelor year crazy blog BECAUSE MAGIC

Inbetween

So this week we were working on Inbetweening.
We were given the Key Frames and Breakdowns of a scene from 'Brendan And The Secret of Kells', and we got to inbetween it. Aisling (the girl) has got so much personality in her eyes.

Drawing for Animation class with Frederik Villumsen.
In the past 2 weeks we have been working on a Mickey Mouse scene, using the model from Fantasia.
The guidelines were 6 sec, Mickey casts a spell and then gets disappointed by the result.

In this assignment I wanted my story to be very clear, and that I would hit the audience exactly where I was aiming for. In the end, telling a story and communicating with the audience is the most important part of Animation. Close to the end of the project, after having a small visit in my workstation from Kaj Pindal, I understood how timing was the tool that made the biggest difference in achieving that goal.

My interpretation to Hamlet's first scene. Last assignment after a week of Design with Lawrence Marvit.
The ghost of the dead king appears in front of the castle guards.
"
MARCELLUS: Peace, break thee off; look, where it comes again!
BERNARDO: In the same figure, like the king that's dead. "...
..."HORATIO: What art thou that usurp'st this time of night, together with that fair and warlike form in which the majesty of buried Denmark did sometimes march? by heaven I charge thee, speak! "

Life drawing, selection from the past two months (1 to 5 minutes poses)

This week's characters from the streets of Viborg (and that 'Moonrise Kingdom' kid)

While watching 'The Princess Bride':
